Whether or not juggling is one of your own performance skills, one of the most important lessons I've learnt over the years is that even as an agony uncle and advisor, none of us can do our job without help and support. Here is a list of sites and people I have found helpful, interesting or just good friends to have around....

The Stage Newspaper
More than just the sister website of Britain's top entertainment industry weekly, The Stage online contains vast amounts of useful contacts and weblinks, a wide range of useful 'how to' articles on almost any aspect of showbusiness you can imagine, a regularly updated jobs section and last but not least the complete archive of questions and queries from my 'Dear John' column many of which are just as relevant today as when they were written.

The Spotlight
The Spotlight is the 'gold standard' casting directory for the UK entertainment industry. As noted in The Agent E-Book my definitive step-by-step guide for performers looking for talent agents or aiming to be their own talent agent, if you are not working on getting listed in Spotlight you should be. Besides providing a showcase for actors, though there is also a wealth of other useful advice and services on the spotlight site.
Sheila Ferguson's Official Site
Sheila Ferguson-Legendary former lead singer of The Three Degrees, Sheila has now gone on to even greater solo success not just as a vocalist (her recent solo album won a coveted four star review in The Independent Newspaper) but as a West End star of shows such as Soul Train and Thoroughly Modern Millie. What is less well known is her tireless work behind the scenes with Equity and PAMRA fighting for performer's rights..much more gruelling  than even her jungle adventures in 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here..'' Whenever I'm looking for an example of how to build a career, not just aim for one or two good gigs, I can't think of a better place to send people than Sheila's website. As with everything else she does, Sheila is hands-on with her site too, so if you get over there quickly not only can you buy limited edition CDS and downloads and view Sheila's classy photo galleries, you may even bump into the diva herself.
Tell her I sent you!

Tony Kirwood Comedy Courses
Tony is a comedy writer and also an accomplished actor...two skills which work very well in tandem, but which many aspiring stand-ups lack. Tony's courses are excellent and highly recommended for individuals and institutions.
