School Talks

John is available to give talks and workshops at schools and colleges on the business of being a performer, a subject which may not be the most 'glamourous' but is a vitally important one, and one young people should be thinking about as early as possible. Presented in a bright and snappy style, with lots of relevant celebrity examples and with as much interaction as possible encouraged, John's take on this subject is practical and sensible, but also upbeat and entertaining, and can be tailored to the age group and specialisation of the class. John has worked with a wide range of age groups and institutions in the past including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to Stanmore College, Ithaca, Capa and Syracuse Colleges to community and youth projects and libraries across the country.*

Coaching, Mentoring, Parent Advice

While John does not normally coach young performers under 16 on a regular basis, he is happy to offer parents and children together a once off advice session at trial session rates.

''We all agreed that it was really interesting, valuable and informative to speak to you yesterday. Thank you for your generous input.
It really helped talk to someone who knows their trade so well, to be able to start to make sense of the very wide artistic world out there!
We went straight to look at the Contacts book and did some more focused internet search''
Marcella Flores Newburn, parent of young performer

For young performers over 16 but under 18, coaching sessions can be arranged with parental/school consent.
